Maxfield Parrish

would turn 137 years old today . . . had he not died in 1966. Happy Birthday Max!!

I've long loved his work, although I think I'm probably predisposed to like him, being from Windsor, VT. Parrish and others of his posse established an artist's colony in Cornish NH and consequently "put Cornish on the map" as they say. Well, Windsor VT is sort of a sister town to Cornish NH...more than just a sister town really, because of the famed Windsor-Cornish covered bridge we are like conjoined twin towns (even though many Cornish folk would likely be fine with disowning Windsor) The whole area has been proud of Parrish..long as I can recall...Windsor even has this museum.
